FMP Go For Glory In EuroChallenge And Beyond

18.02.2010

FMP are flying high in the EuroChallenge with three wins in as many Last 16 games.

A club that has helped in the development of terrific Serbian players over the years, including the likes of current national team star Milos Teodosic, FMP would love to bring some glory to Belgrade by winning the European title.

"We have big ambitions in the FIBA competition, as well as in the domestic league," FMP coach Vlade Durovic said.

"Our aim is to ensure in the Super League standings again that we make (next year's) regional competition (Adriatic League)."

Before returning to the battles of the EuroChallenge, though, FMP will focus on the Radivoj Korac Cup in Nis this weekend.

In their Quarter-Final, FMP will go up against Red Star Belgrade, a team they have faced twice already in the Adriatic League.

FMP won the first encounter 85-81 on October 13 at home and fell in the second meeting, 87-73, on January 9.

"Let's go to Nis to provide the maximum," Durovic said, "even if we start against perhaps the most difficult opponent."

Good news for FMP is that Filip Covic has recovered from a rib injury and can play.

The point guard has been one of FMP's top players in Europe but has been out of action in February with the injury.

Bojana Radetici is an uncertainty, though, because he has a high temperature.
