"Big Gun" Predrag Samardziski is now one of the most important players for FYR of Macedonia due to his ability to match up effectively on defence with opposing centers and utilize both his shot blocking ability and rebounding skills. Once one of the most talked about young players in Europe, there are those who believe the center has never quite fulfilled his true potential after having once turned the heads of NBA scouts. However in the past few seasons, there are few who would argue against Samardziski having raised his game, in particular after an excellent season in the Turkish League with Olin Edirne where he almost averaged a superb season double-double. He continues to prove himself to be a real handful for defenders and while his post-up game continues to develop, he is now cemented as a core player for his country. He was a real menace at EuroBasket 2009 with an efficient 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, and with two more years of experience under his belt, fans will be expecting a similar kind of production once again.
