|Radoslaw Hyzy goes to the hoop for BK Prostejov, who hit back after their first loss last week|
BK Prostejov blew away Telekom Baskets Bonn 86-63 to clinch a place in the Last 16 of the EuroChallenge.
Beaten last week for the first time in the competition at Krka Novo Mesto in Slovenia, Prostejov hit right back on Tuesday night with a scintillating effort.
Offensively, the Czech team knocked down nine of 19 shots from the arc and made 31 of 58 shots from the floor overall.
Germany international Tim Ohlbrecht has been playing well of late and he had 16 points and 10 rebounds but Prostejov were far too good on this occasion.
Benas Veikalas had 19 points, Bertengeh Gadri 15 and both Jaroslav Prasil and Eugene Lawrence 11.
Lawrence did a little bit of everything as he also handed out seven assists and pulled down six rebounds.
Kyle Landry did the dirty work inside for Prostejov.
He had 12 rebounds to go with his four points.
No one would have expected Bonn to capitulate the way they did when midway through the first half a Folarin Campbell basket gave them a 30-26 advantage.
Lawrence hit a lay-up on a fast break and following a Mark Tyndale turnover, Prasil struck for one of his three shots from long range in the game to put the Czechs in front.
Gadri then dunked to get the Prostejov crowd on its feet again.
The German club kept battling and drew level at 33-33 after Chris Ensminger split a pair of free-throws.
After Lawrence split two free-throws, his three-point play put Prostejov into a 37-33 lead at the break.
Prostejov kept the pressure on after the restart and pulled away for a decisive victory.
Both sides had trouble at the free-throw line with the winners making just 15 of 24 and Bonn sinking 10 of 18.
Bonn now need KK Zagreb (0-4) to do them a favor on Tuesday and beat Krka (3-1) or else their faint hopes of progressing to the Last 16 will die.
