France international Vincent Masingue is bitterly disappointed at being excluded from coach Alain Weisz`s team ahead of the European Championships.
The Nancy player took part in training with the national side ahead of Frances' three matches in Strasbourg but failed to make a lasting impression on Weisz.
Both he and point guard Aymeric Jeanneau were jettisoned and now Les Bleus need to cut just one more player ahead of the Eurobasket in Sweden.
"I knew the coach would chose between me, Karim Souchu, Thierry Rupert and Jeanneau," Masingue said.
"Of course, I was disappointed and I still am because I took part in the preparation for nothing.
"I am also going to miss something big because that team is capable of achieving beautiful things."
France, with leading light Tony Parker showing why he is such a valuable player for the NBA champions San Antonio Spurs, are among a group of teams which can win the tournament.
They showed some excellent form in beating Israel (94-69) and Italy (90-85) in Strasbourg before suffering a 110-100 reverse to Lithuania on Sunday - their first defeat in 10 matches.
The side is now preparing for another three-day tournament, in Braunschweig, Germany, which will take place from August 22-24.
Following the tournament Weisz will announce his 12-man squad for the European Championships.
They will then travel to Sweden for the championships, which take place from September 5 to 14.
