PLAYER HISTORY
Dejan Tomasevic

Career: Borac Cacak (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1990-91), Red Star Belgrade (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1991-95), Partizan Belgrade (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1995-99), Buducnost Podgorica (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1999-2001), TAU Vitoria (Spain-ACB, 2001-02), Pamesa Valencia (Spain-ACB, 2002-05), Panathinaikos Athens (Greece-ESAKE, 2005-...)

One of the most experienced players, not only for Serbia-Montenegro, but the whole of Europe. He says that this championship will be his last, and winning a medal in front of the home crowd is the best way to say goodbye. But only half of the fans favour him because he is one of the few players who did something that they consider unforgivable. He played for 4 years for both arch-rivals, Red Star and Partizan. He matured playing for the national team, learning the tricks from Zoran Savic and Vlade Divac, and now it is this veteran’s turn to help and guide the younger centers. He took part in all the NT’s big achievements since 1995 and alongside Bodiroga has the biggest collection of medals. Six-time YUBA league champion with three different teams (Red Star, Partizan and Buducnost) and two Serbia-Montenegro cup titles. ACB, Spain league and cup title with TAU Vitoria, ULEB cup 2003 winner and final game MVP with Pamesa. Many years of experience in the Euroleague, and in the 2000-01 season won the MVP trophy. Tomasevic has a unique playing style and some coaches love him but some don’t. One thing is certain, he is a great player. Offensive rebounding is his specialty and there are few guys who can match him. Has great court vision, especially his return passes to shooting guards when he’s double-teamed. His weak spots are a so-so shooting technique and a poor free throw percentage. His presence on the team is a matter of a great importance and the only thing that could stop him from playing is a recent knee injury.
