Zakhar Pashutin

Career: Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 1990-93), Avtodor Saratov (Russia-Superleague, 1993-99), Pinar Karsiyaka (Turkey-D1, 1999-2000), ASVEL Villeurbanne (2000-01), CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2001-03), Ural Great Perm (Russia-Superleague, 2003-04), CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2004-05).

One of the veterans of the national team, Zakhar Pashutin has been a feared scorer his whole career but has failed to make it outside the Russian borders. His first trip abroad came with an average squad from the Turkish league. The second in France with powerhouse ASVEL, where he did not meet the expectations, averaging less than 10 points per game... Back in Russia, Pashutin was his usual self. A guard able to dribble drive, with great court vision and a dangerous outside shot... After a convincing stint in Perm, he came back to CSKA Moscow this year but his role on the team was extremely limited : 2.1 ppg in the Euroleague... His older brother and former national team point guard Evegny is the coach of the U20 squad that won the European championship in July.
