Balanced Russia Breeze By Belarus

Vasily Zavoruev scored 20 points leading Russia to an 86-52 blow-out of Belarus for their second straight victory in the quarter-final round of the Ostchem U20 European Championship.

Pavel Agapov added 15 points, and Maxim Sheleketo had 13 points and seven rebounds, while the duo combined for 16 points in a 20-4 run from the first to second quarters to open up a 15-point lead.

Turkey Lose But Go Through

Russia's 63-60 defeat of Turkey was not enough for the them to pip the Turks to second place in Group C of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship on Sunday night.

With three sides in the pool finishing with 2-1 records, it came down to points difference with the French and Turkey advancing and Russia having to settle for third place.

Russia Deliver Early Knockout Punch Against Germany

A 24-2 first-quarter run for Russia doomed Germany in Group C on Saturday.

Beaten by France in their opener, the Russians got their Ostchem U20 European Championship campaign on track with an 81-51 victory as Maxim Sheleketo poured in a game-high 25 points.

France Take Control With Strong First Quarter

France were surprisingly big winners over Russia in Group C, beating the men from Moscow 92-63 with Souarata Cissé pouring in 20 points, grabbing five boards and blocking on shot.

The French stormed out to a 30-15 lead by the end of the first quarter with Cissé scoring eight of his points.
