Russia were crowned the OSTCHEM U20 European champions on Sunday after emerging victorious in a close-fought final against hosts Hungary.

Forward Tatiana Bokareva led four players in double figures as a strong  second-half performance proved decisive for the Russians in their 77-68 success.

Evgenia Belyakova and Russia battled back from a 12-point first-half deficit to beat Spain 80-73 and advance to the final of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship Women.

Genoveva Tapia Lopez's lay-up inside the final two minutes of the second quarter had given the Spaniards a 42-30 lead but the Russians held their nerve and eventually took the lead for good at the start of the fourth period at 60-58 on a lay-up by Belyakova.

Tatiana Bokareva led the way with a fantastic performance, collecting 20 points and 14 rebounds to guide her team to a comfortable win.
