Another player who has been playing for Coach Vainauskas in Kursk, Vodpoyanova stepped out at the Olympics for a third time when she participated in London. That's a little odd, since in between her three Olympic appearances, she hasn't always featured for Russia either at FIBA World Championships or EuroBasket Women, last playing back in 2007. But, she is a 32-year-old veteran who can certainly provide a reliable presence coming off the bench. Not prolific in the paint, she is however very capable of pulling down rebounds, handling the ball and using her well rounded skills for the sake of the team. Defensively she is excellent and has great anticipation, comfortably getting down the floor in any transition situation. She's a cunning fox who can turn games with her intelligence and is a good tournament player who always makes the most of any time she is given.
