Turkey started the Qualifying Round with an 86-73 win over Ukraine in the first game of Group E.
The players of Head Coach Orhun Ene climbed to 2-1 while Ukraine now holds a 1-2 record.
Baris Hersek led Turkey with 19 points and seven rebounds, Ogun Sevinc added 18 while Can Ozcan scored 16 points.
Sergiy Gladyr along with Vadym Norenko led Ukraine with 16 points.
"Ukraine has great perimeter shooters, and we managed to control them a little," concluded Coach Ene, referring mostly to the single basket out of 11 attempt by Ukraine's star Oleksandr Kolchenko.
Turkey climbed to an 11-4 lead, but Gladyr helped his team finish the first quarter down just by two points, 25-23.
Hersek started to collect points carrying his team ahead again, but Gladyr replied to make it a one point game, 35-34 less than four minutes till half time.
Hersek was active again to score five points, all from the charity stripe, as Turkey finished the first half up by seven, 45-38.
One player came much more focused than others from the locker room - Sevinc of Turkey who connected three times in a row from long range, to make it 56-39 after three minutes.
Hersek and Ozcan continued to extend the lead that reached already 20, as the final outcome of the game was clearer.
"We have a difficult game tomorrow, and if we want to beat Lithuania we must play all 40 minutes in good shape," added Ene.
Turkey will have a big challenge tomorrow against Lithuania, while Ukraine will take on Italy.
