Birsel Vardarli
Career: Migros Spor Kulubu (Turkey-TBBL, 2002-2004), Fenerbahçe (Turkey-TBBL, 2004-11)

With excellent court vision and now plenty more experience under her belt, Birsel Vardarli is a playmaker who is capable of leading Turkey to success. She is a smart point-guard who more often than not will be the heartbeat of the team. She is quick across the floor but even quicker in her ability to spot open teammates and make incisive passes. Consequently her assists tally is usually impressive while she also possess many other attributes. She seems to thrive on the big occasion and will find the ball in her hands for the big plays in crunch time since she is known for keeping her composure and executing when it matters. Vardarli is very much a clutch shooter and has no problem stepping up in buzzer-beater situations. This Turkish League All Star has won a host of trophies at domestic level, including several Championships and Cup competitions having played with Fenerbahçe for many years. Meanwhile with the National Team, she has shown she can produce on the big stage. She dished up more assists per game than any other player at EuroBasket Women 2009 in Latvia as well as showing she can pose a threat from downtown. Having played at EuroBasket Women 2005, this will be her fourth EuroBasket Women tournament and she remains one of the key weapons for Turkey.
