Furkan Aldemir was a major part of Pinar Karsiyaka's success in the EuroChallenge before he got hurt in a Turkish league game against Fenerbahce Ulker before Christmas.
The club is hoping he'll make it back to help them challenge for the title in the European competition, with Karsiyaka currently 3-0 in the Last 16.
Karsiyaka have announced on their website that Furkan is on the comeback trail.
The club said: "After getting hurt games against Fenerbahce, Furkan started running practices yesterday.
During his injury (lay-off), he has been working to reinforce his ankle with Erdem Günak who is one of the team fitness staff.
"In this period, Furkan was wearing a special ankle band (wristband) which is really strong and does not let him move easily.
Now he is going to have a new ankle band which is more supple that will prevent his ankle from spraining.
During the running practices, if he doesn't feel his ankle forced, he will be able to start jumping practices as well."
The Izmir club hosts Antwerp Giants on Tuesday.
