|Axel Hervelle, who was arguably Belgium's best player during preparations, will not travel to Lithuania after suffering an injury in the last warm-up game before the EuroBasket|
Lithuania, Turkey and Belgium received very bad news from their medical teams this weekend, that force them to cut key players from their roster with less than four days to the start of the EuroBasket.
The hosts will have a hard time filling the void that Darjus Lavrinovic leaves in the paint. The experienced center is suffering an Achilles tendon injury and as a result coach Kestutis Kemzura had no choice but to leave him out of the final squad.
Lithuania EuroBasket 2011 squad: Šarūnas Jasikevičius, Mantas Kalnietis, Tomas Delininkaitis, Rimantas Kaukėnas, Martynas Pocius, Simas Jasaitis, Paulius Jankūnas, Darius Songaila, Kšištofas Lavrinovičius, Jonas Valančiūnas, Marijonas Petravičius and Robertas Javtokas.
Turkey suffered a similar blow when they received confirmation that Semih Erden has not recovered entirely from a shoulder injury that has troubled him this season. The Cleveland Cavaliers center had undergone surgery in April.
Turkey squad: Izzet Türkyilmaz, Hidayet Türkoglu, Kerem Tunçeri, Oguz Savas, Emir Preldzic, Ömer Onan, Ömer Asik, Ersan Ilyasova, Enes Kanter, Cenk Akyol, Ender Arslan, Sinan Güler.
The latest to fall victim of this weekend streak of bad luck was Belgium power forward Axel Hervelle, who suffered a blow in only the first minute of the warm-up game of the 'Lions' against France and early estimates say he will stay side-lined for about a month.
Belgium Head Coach Eddy Casteels reacted immediately by recalling forward Didier Mbenga, who had been cut only last week, to travel with the team to Lithuania replacing Hervelle.
