Ersan Ilyasova was the key element of the historical success of Turkish basketball at the 2010 FIBA World Cup and now he is getting ready for another big challenge following a brief absence. Ilyasova missed the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain but he is now coming back to the "12 Dev Adam", with the single-minded aim of returning them to the podium. Still only 28-years-old but with a lifetime of experience means a lot for both him and the team. He can both score and rebound in the paint with regularity while also being a big danger from the perimeter thanks to his relatively consistent three-point shooting. With his pure shot-blocking skills, his defence is also highly regarded. 14 years away from the podium, Ilyasova could well be the man to provide Turkey with the cure to finally return.
