Sweden capped a stunning 10 days at the Umcor U18 European Championship Women with a 62-57 win against Czech Republic to win the bronze medal.

"Our goal was to stay in the A group and not go back to the B group," said point guard Frida Eldebrink on her side's aspirations going into the competition.

Marta Bibrzycka’s bigger sister is senior national team and EuroLeague Women All-Star Agnieszka. Karis Loyd is the daughter of Otis Loyd, former coach of the Danish men’s national team, while Serbia & Montenegro’s Sonja Petrovic’s father was a longtime FIBA referee.

Swedish Basketball is on the rise. That's the feeling among the supporters, players and coaching staff at the Umcor U18 Europen Championship Women as the team celebrated an 82-69 victory over Bulgaria.

The win not only qualifies Sweden for Saturday's final, but guarantees a berth at next year's FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.
