Georgia Keep Heat On Sweden

16 August 2009

Georgia had no trouble with Luxembourg in their EuroBasket Division B, Group C meeting on Saturday.

Igor Kokoskov's men rolled to a 115-73 victory in front of a croud of 6000 in Tbilisi.

Tyrone Ellis led the way with 23 points for Georgia, who also got 20 apiece from Zaza Pachulia and George Tsintsadze.

Georgia (4-1) trail Sweden (5-0), who brushed aside Ireland 66-50 in their meeting in Dublin.

The Georgians host the Irish next while the Swedes face a tough home game against Slovakia.

Georgia are at home against the Swedes on August 26.

The winners of each group, and the best second-place team, will advance to the next round with two sides eventually winning promotion to Division A.
