Poland Crush Sweden

13 September 2006

Agnieszka Bibrzycka score nine of her team-high 17 points in the first quarter as Poland jumped out to a quick start en route to a 91-53 win.

Bibrzycka, a EuroLeague Women All-Star this past season, scored three points to start the game and her three-pointer midway through the quarter put Poland up 10-3.

Moments later, Paulina Pawlak hit a three-pointer and Bibrzycka scored jump shots on two consecutive possessions to put Poland up 17-8.

Leading 21-13 going into the second, Poland didn’t let up and made five of their first six field goal attempts.

They shot 10-of-19 for the quarter to take a 44-24 lead into halftime.

Sweden would never get close in the second half as Bibrzycka and Poland's other starters would sit for a good portion of the second half.

Coach Krzysztof Koziorowicz used all of his players for at least six minutes.

Poland shot over 50 percent on both 2-point (27-of-52, 52%) and three-point (6-of-12, 50%) field goals.
