A noisy crowd gave the right atmosphere to the Hungarian 74-46 opening victory against Sweden.

Songs and drums dominated off court, while on court, hosts Hungary showed great flashes of basketball.

The Hungarians started on the right track, but the Swedish team was not giving the game away so soon, and even with a bad shooting percentage, they were able to equalise the match during the first quarter.

It was then that Bernadett Horvath's influence began to show, giving Hungary a 14 points advantage at half time (46-32).

In the second half, Sweden felt the pressure and was not able to come back.

Both coaches gave minutes to all their players and all bench players showed great attitude and confirmed the teams' value.

Virag Weninger was Hungary's best scorer with 16 points, with Horvath (15 points, 10 rebounds and five assists) and Agnes Dobos (14 points and six rebounds) giving big help.

Anna Tivenius, who had 17 points, left her fingerprint on the Swedish scoreboard.
