Memphis Grizzlies have recalled Pau Gasol, the leading scorer, for their playoff push.
The Grizzlies on Sunday activated Gasol, who had missed the last 23 games with plantar fasciaitis in his left foot.
Gasol was averaging a team-leading 18.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game when he went on the injured list January 25.
He had missed just four games in his first three seasons.
The 2002 NBA Rookie of the Year, Gasol signed a six-year, $86 million contract extension prior to this season.
The 24-year-old native of Spain has averaged 18.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in 281 career games.
Despite Gasol's absence, the Grizzlies went 15-8 to improve to 38-27 entering Sunday's game vs. Phoenix.
They are seventh in the Western Conference, one game behind Houston, as they close in on their second straight postseason berth.
To make room for Gasol, the Grizzlies placed forward Ryan Humphrey on the IL with a strained left groin.
Humphrey is averaging 2.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 35 games this season.
