Jordana Misses Out For Spain

Spanish women’s basketball coach Vicente Rodriguez has decided his 12 players who will make the trip to Greece at the end of this month to compete in the European Championships.

Noemi Jordana was the final player to be withdrawn from the originally selected list for the event held between the 19 and 28 of September.

She now will enjoy two days break and says she fully understands the decision.

“It was one of the possibilities that existed and looking on the positive side the period while we have been together has been very good and it has been well worth being there,” she said.

“My desire now is that Spain obtain in Greece the passage through to the Olympics in Athens.

“Vicente has told me that if I continue working as I have been it is very probable that I will be called up to the following selection meeting and I hope this happens and that I am able to go to the next Games if Spain qualify.”

The team for the European Championships will meet up on Monday in Guadalajara for two days of training before they travel on September 17 to Greece.
