Staying healthy has often been an uphill struggle for Aguilar but one thing the power forward has never lost, even after periods of inactivity, is his soft shooting touch. The Andalusian is especially effective off the pick'n'pop, from any range, but also a very capable spot-up shooter. Aguilar has won five medals with the national team, four at junior level and one at EuroBasket 2013, but all of them were bronze and he has never played in a final, something unique among Spanish internationals with participations in six international tournaments. He moved to Madrid at a very young age to join Real and debuted in the Spanish top flight with the senior team when he was just 17, albeit he was loaned to Granada the following year. In the upcoming season he will play for legendary coach Aito Garcia Reneses as he has signed with Gran Canaria.
