| 19.07.2010 Vega Gimeno notched a double-double and every Spanish player scored as Spain remained perfect at the U20 European Championship for Women with a dominating 91-69 victory over Belarus in qualifying round Group F play.
Gimeno collected 18 points and 14 rebounds while Cristina Ouvina added 11 points and Vanessa Ble had eight points and 13 rebounds for Spain, who improved to 3-0 in the group.
Belarus dropped to 0-3 in the group despite 14 points and 11 rebounds by Mariya Filonchyk and 18 points from Katsiaryna Kashei.
Belarus were within 10-9 before Spain went on a 10-1 run for their first double digit lead. Belarus fought back within five points and it was 24-17 after one period.
A 16-4 Spanish run pushed the gap to 17 points and Spain led 46-32 at the break.
In the second half, the Spanish just showed their class in continually building the lead, which was 70-46 after three periods.
And the route continued in the fourth quarter. |
