Spain Top Group, Turkey Third

Four players scored in double figures to lead undefeated Spain to an 80-57 victory over Turkey to claim first place in their qualifying round Group F at the U20 European Championship for Women.

Marta Xargay and Vega Gimeno each scored 13 points while Marta Tudanca added 12 points and Leonor Rodriguez had 10 points in pushing Spain to a perfect 5-0 record in the group. Vanessa Ble chipped in six points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in the victory.

Turkey dropped to 3-2 in the group to finish third despite 19 points from Damla Gezgin. 

Spain streaked ahead to a 16-5 lead and were up 20-12 after one quarter.
Turkey cut the deficit to three points only to see Spain respond with a 14-2 run for a 15-point cushion. And the Iberians led 41-28 at the break.

Spain used an 11-0 spurt early in the third quarter for a 22-point advantage and Turkey would not get closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
