Classification Round-Up: Spain Grab 5th, Italy 7th

Spain beat Russia 92-83 in the 5th-6th place game at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The Spanish took an 18-8 lead courtesy of Joan Llovet with 2:26 left in the first quarter but Russia came back in the second period, tying the game at 27 with just over seven minutes remaining before the break.

Classification Round-Up: Spain, Russia To Battle For 5th

Spain will face Russia in Sunday's 5th-6th place game at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The Spaniards beat Italy 84-72 thanks to some balanced scoring which saw five players score in double-digits.

Kanter Lifts Turkey Over Spain, Into Semis

Turkey used an 8-0 run early in the second half to distance themselves from Spain on their way to a 76-62 win their quarter-final encounter at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The Turks led 30-28 at the break and scored the first eight points of the third quarter to take the game's first double-digit lead, 38-28, on Enes Kanter's three-pointer.

Spain beat Slovenia 74-67 on the final day of the Qualifying Round at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The result saw the Spaniards finish with a 4-1 mark to top Group E while Slovenia finished 1-4.
