Spain may have an imposing frontline at senior level with the likes of Marc and Pau Gasol and Jorge Garbajosa, but that won't be the case at the U18 European Championship.
Nevertheless, coach Alejandro Martinez doesn't believe the lack of height is something his team cannot overcome.
"We will have to compete from our first training session in the same way as throughout the tournament," he said.
"This is our aim. We are aware that we are smaller than our more important opponents, but we do have more talent in certain positions.
"We will need to play with more speed while also having the necessary order to be able to have clear ideas on offense."
Spain will begin training on June 30.
The U18 European Championship will be played in Pyrgos, Greece, from July 27 to August 3.
Spain, who finished fifth at last year's U18 event, are in Group A with Israel, Belgium and the host nation.
Douai Junior Tournament
The under-18 teams from France, Croatia, Germany, Lithuania, Israel and Turkey are to play in the World Junior Tournament in Douai, in the north of France, from June 25-29.
It's the second edition of the competition. The United States and a national team from Africa are also taking part.
