Spain put their dramatic quarter-final loss to France behind them and quickly recovered to defeat the Netherlands 52-36 in a 5th-8th place Classification Round game at the U16 European Championship Women 2010.

No player scored in double figures but Spain's defense was just too much for the Netherlands. The 2009 champions will compete against Turkey, Sunday, for the fifth place in the final standings.

Turkey for their part made easy work of Belgium (62-45). Belgium will face the Netherlands in the game for the seventh rank.

The Czech Republic ended the tournament on the ninth place. In Ptolemaida they defeated hosts Greece 78-52. Greece turned over the ball 21 times and failed to beat the Czechs for a second time in the tournament.

Sweden finished as the 11th placed team. They outlasted Finland in overtime (64-62) to end the tournament on a positive note. Finland forced the extra period making a pair of free throws but in what was an exciting overtime they fell to their neighbours.

In the classification games for 13th to 16th place, Italy have already made sure of preserving their Division A status while Lithuania will be playing in Division B next year. Theoretically Belarus still have the chance to avoid accompanying Lithuania but they will have to defeat Poland by a huge margin in their match-up tomorrow. Poland won the first game between the two 66-27.
