The Slovak Republic recorded a flawless third quarter to beat Romania 62-39 and stay undefeated (2-0) at the U18 European Championship for Women.
The host nation led 25-20 at the end of what was a slow and gritty first half.
The nature of play in the first two quarters seemed to indicate the game would be won by the team with the most intensity and desire.
However, that proved to be a wrong assumption as the Slovak Republic found their shooting touch and outscored Romania 28-8 in the third quarter alone to take a 53-28 lead to put the game out of reach.
The pair of Veronika Cornakova and Klaudia Lukacovicova - who finished with game-highs of 15 and 1 4 points respectively - spearheaded the offensive onslaught but also got some help from the likes of Barbora Novocka and Maria Felixova.
Both teams started off slow on offense, combining for just 12 points in the game's first eight minutes.
The Slovak Republic took the lead for good at 11-10 on a Cernakova lay up to close the opening quarter and they stayed in front the rest of the way.
Andreea Pop had 10 points for Romania and Elisabeth Pavel came close to a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
The loss dropped Piperea Madalin's team to 0-2.
