U20 Women Group B
|Monika Grigalauskyte once more was a beast on the boards for Lithuania, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 18 rebounds|
Lithuania dominated inside to conclude their U20 European Championship Women Group B campaign with a commanding 88-61 win over Romania.
Lithuania outrebounded the Romanians 54-30 - 24 of them coming on the offensive end - as they controlled the game from under the basket, while also shooting six-of-15 from long-range to keep Romania stretched.
Santa Okockyte led Lithuania with 17 points while Gintare Mazionyte had 15.
Monika Grigalauskyte added 13 points and 18 rebounds while Laura Svaryte had eight points and 11 boards.
Dovile Saurazaite was perfect three of three from three-point range to finish with 13 points.
Lithuania broke open the game late in the first quarter when Visgaudite's three-pointer started a 16-0 run that stretched deep into the second quarter.
Unable to compete inside, Romania turned to their guards to try to spark a fightback, and Sonia Ursu was impressive in scoring all 12 of her first-half points in the final six minutes.
However, they still had not found a way to stop Lithuania scoring, and went to the locker rooms 55-36 down.
A scoring drought hit Lithuania late in the third quarter as they missed eight straight shots, allowing Romania to close the gap to 15, 65-50.
But they could not maintain it as Lithuania pulled clear again down the stretch, with a 14-2 run sending them 84-57 clear.
Ursu finished with 16 points while Gabriela Cursaru had 13.
Lithuania end group play with a 2-1 record while Romania finished winless and head to the Relegation Round
