NEWSEuropean champions Greece went on a decisive run at the start of the second quarter en route to an 85-67 win against Portugal on Tuesday at the EuroBasket. Portugal led 17-15 with two minutes to go in the first quarter but Greece hit them with a 16-2 run over the next seven minutes to take command. |

Greece knew that advancing to the quarter-final round would be anything but straightforward after losing Antonis Fotsis in the build-up to the EuroBasket to a broken finger.
It is no surprise, then, that they must beat a dangerous Portugal side on Tuesday to reach the last eight. |

More HeadlinesPortugal recorded their first win in the qualifying round by beating Israel 94-85 this afternoon.
Both teams now have a 1-3 record in Group E and still hold a chance of qualifying to the quarter-finals. |

With a big wind at their back, momentum is on Israel's side as they attempt to win three straight games for the first time since 1985.
Portugal is trying to gain experience in every game, but play tough and never gives up. |
