Career: Benfica Lisboa (Portugal-Liga TMN, 1995-99), Adecco Milano (Italia-Lega, 1999-2000), Scandone Avellino (Italia-Lega, 2000-01), Lleida (Spain-Liga ACB, 2001-05), Fuenlabrada (Spain-Liga ACB, 2005-06), Palma Aqua Alcudia (Spain-Liga LEB, 2006-07).
Sérgio Ramos is without a doubt one of the most talented Portuguese players ever. But for the past three years, injuries have hampered his performance. He was playing well in Spain with Caprabo Lleida (12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in Liga ACB in 2003-04) when his knee collapsed for the first time. Since then, he has been on and off the injured list. This season the injury seems to have worked out and if things stay that way the 2.00 m small forward should be part of the Portuguese roster for EuroBasket 2007 and a tremendous addition to the squad. Ramos is a great three-point shooter, but can also get into the lane and score playing with his back to the basket. The 31-year-old is consistent, has tremendous international experience and is a leader whose enthusiasm is contagious. Ramos is a player who makes a huge difference for a team like Portugal just by being on the court. But will he be healthy?
