Krzysztof Szubarga is back to the national team following a three-year absence. His last run was stopped short when he got injured during a Qualification Round game against Portugal in 2010. Prior to the injury He was starting ahead of Lukasz Koszarek. Since then he gained more experience as the back-up point guard of 2011 Polish Champions Asseco Prokom Gdynia and as the leader of Anwil Wloclawek for two years. Very strong physically and mentally, he does allow his height to become a disadvantage, and he never backs down from anybody in defence or offence. "Szubi" is never afraid to take the last shot, which results in some spectacular game-winners. Likely to play for a club outside Poland for the first time next season, his play in Slovenia may prove he belongs to the upper cast of European point guards.
