Poland teenager Kamil Pietras has been rewarded for his fine form at youth level with a spot in coach Andrej Urlep's 12-man squad for the EuroBasket in Spain.
The 19-year-old forward impressed at the U20 European Championship Division B earlier this year, making it into the leading scorers and rebounders lists with an average of 18.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as Poland finished fifth.
Pietras' youth is evened out by the likes of veterans Adam Wojcik (37) and Andrzej Pluta (33), meaning there is a balance of ages in the squad.
Cut from the preliminary squad are Pawel Kikowski and Krzysztof Szubarga, while Michal Ignerski, Krzysztof Roszyk (both knee) and Michal Chylinski (foot) miss out with their respective injuries.
Poland line up in Group D at the EuroBasket along with France, Slovenia and Italy.
Poland squad: Lukasz Koszarek, Andrzej Pluta, Robert Skibniewski, Iwo Kitzinger, Filip Dylewicz, Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz, Radoslaw Hyzy, Bartlomiej Woloszyn, Robert Witka, Szymon Szewczyk, Adam Wojcik, Kamil Pietras.
