Finland hasn't given up hope

25 September 2004

The women's Group D table is gearing up for a nailbiting finish on Saturday.

Third-placed Finland needs a victory over Poland having the last
chance to reach the finals next year.
Poland won the first game by 3 (63-60), so this one will probably be very close, too.

"This defeat still hurts", Piipari said, "but we wouldn’t be in such a situation, if we had played this game with the same confidence, as the last two games. We only have to focus now on the game against Poland. But I’m really looking forward to it, because we developed as a team."
