Having been handed a place at the Final Round in 2009 and then once again two years later, Skobel is knocking on the door of a third appearance. While she has never been prolific for club or country, her versatility and defensive power means she is always high on the minutes chart as she is the type of player that most coaches really love. Not least Coach Winnicki who loves a sound defensive strategy and there is no risk to that when the reliable Skobel is on assignment. Her real value lies in her quick hands and feet, as well as her boxing-out skills. More often than not,, she is able to initiate transition scores for her team-mates with steals or defensive boards. She is rock solid on the wings and now has EuroLeague Women experience to draw upon. While not exactly an ‘X-factor' player, she provides the priceless glue that most teams need.
