Czech Republic are emerging as the surprise team of the tournament after they completed an impressive 83-64 rout of Poland to book their place in the quarter-finals. Having lost both of their opening games after arriving in Naples it seemed almost unthinkable that Coach Fousek and his players could make the last eight but they continue to improve with every game. |

Greek coach Dimitris Bakogeorgos was far from happy despite his team tipping off their Qualifying Round campaign with a comfortable 50-37 victory over Poland. Center Artemis Spanou was played for forty minutes yet again by the play-caller and she delivered as usual with a massive 17 rebounds and 11 points but coach was still very angry with his side after a below par performance. |
