Netherlands Look Strong Heading To Romania

The Netherlands will go into the U18 European Championship for Women Division B in impressive form after coming out on top in a warm-up tournament in Tunisia.

Germany are among the favourites as teams prepare to head to Romania, but the Dutch sent a message by dispatching them 65-52 in the tournament opener as Zera Butter scored 17 points.

The Netherlands then smashed Tunisia U18s 66-36 in a lopsided clash they led 44-14 at the break.

The European teams got to test themselves against older opposition too as the Tunisia U20 team took part, but that proved no challenge for the Dutch, who won 70-44.

The Netherlands faced Tunisia U18 again in the final match of the tournament, winning 80-57 to claim the title.

Germany rebounded from their opening loss to the Dutch by recording two victories over the Tunisian U20s, winning 69-56 and then 80-65.

Sonja Greinacher had 15 points in the first game while Mary Mihaly matched that total in the second.
Germany finished their campaign with a 78-48 demolition of Tunisia U18s.

The Netherlands are in Group D in Timisoara, and will face Belarus, Israel and Montenegro.
Germany are in Group B are will come up against Croatia, Denmark and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
