U20 MEN DIVISION B

Ondrej Balvin was immense for the Czech Republic in Sofia this week as they clinched promotion to the U20 European Championship Division A.

The 2.16m center averaged 13.9 points per game and 11.9 rebounds as his team reached the Final.

After the Czechs' 88-80 title-game defeat to Croatia on Sunday, Balvin was named MVP of the Division B tournament.

He finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot but it wasn't enough for the Czechs to capture the title.

Devon Van Oostrum of Great Britain saw his dreams of playing at the London Games dashed recently as one of the last cuts from the Olympic squad but he let his play do the talking in Sofia.

Van Oostrum and Bulgaria's Pavlin Ivanov made the All-Tournament team as guards, while Martin Kriz of the Czech Republic and Henrik Sirko of champions Croatia made the top five as forwards.

Finland received the Fair Play award.
