Group F winners Maroussi Athens ended their successful first phase EuroCup campaign with a narrow victory against Latvians ASK Riga who will join them in the second round.
The game was close from wire to wire and with four minutes remaining a jump shot from Sandis Valters put the Baltic side 71-69 ahead.
Petros Noeas, after an alley-oop move, made it 71-71 and then an Alexandros Kyritsis three-point jump shot put the Greeks into a 74-71 lead.
Valters nailed another jump shot to reduce arrears to a single point only for Konstantinos Charalampidis to drain two free throws for Maroussi.
A layup from Raitis Grafs once again made it a single-point game with 32 seconds to play but another free throw from Charalampidis and two from Noeas ensured victory was achieved by the club from the Greek capital.
Valters earned game high scoring honours with 33 points in a losing cause and he was seven from eight inside the paint. He managed four from six from the free throw line while from downtown he nailed five of his 12 attempts.
Grafs added 11 and Curtis Millage too while Rolands Freimanis hauled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Latvian outfit.
Kyritsis poured in 20 for the victors while Christopher Thomas added 19 including five from six inside the paint and two from three from outside. He was perfect from the charity stripe, converting all three attempts.
Renaldas Seibutis also managed double digits with 11 and both teams progress to the next phase.
