The American's departure has been confirmed by coach Ergin Ataman.
"Morrison wanted to go back to his country," Ataman has confirmed to the Anatolia News Agency.
"He didn't want to be the sixth foreign player."
Morrison was playing big minutes for Besiktas but when Marcellus Kemp returned from injury, he was having a problem making the squad because of the limit of foreign players.
"We came to an agreement and parted ways," Ataman said.
Morrison, a former NBA lottery pick by the Charlotte Bobcats following a glittering collegiate career at Gonzaga University in the American state of Washington, last played for the club on 24 March in a 64-61 home defeat to Banvit.
In Turkey, he averaged 11.75 points in eight games, while in six EuroChallenge outings, he poured in an average of 12.2 points.
Besiktas, winners of the Turkish Cup and fourth in the BEKO Basketbol Ligi standings, will play hosts Szolnoki Olaj on 27 April in Debrecen at the EuroChallenge Final Four.
