EclipseJet MyGuide Amsterdam hammered CSK-VVS Samara to set up a do-or-die clash with Dexia Mons-Hainaut next week between sides trying to advance to the EuroChallenge Quarter-Finals. Orien Greene erupted for a game-high 27 points for the Dutch outfit, who improved to 3-2 in Group L, the same record as Dexia after they BC Triumph. Defeat for Samara meant they finished 0-6 in the pool. Arie Shivek's Amsterdam only led 44-40 more than three minutes into the second half but then blew the game wide open. Avis Wyatt tipped in a Peter van Paassen miss and Teddy Gipson followed with a lay-up and a jump shot at the start of an 11-1 surge. By the end of the quarter, the Amsterdammers had a 69-54 lead and in the final frame they went in front by as many as 23 before cruising to victory. Amsterdam hit nine of 20 (45%) from long range with Greene four of seven (57.1%). Gennady Zelenskiy finished with 21 points for Samara. |
