It's some three seasons since Luigi Datome enjoyed something of a breakthrough season after he joined Lottomatica Roma and now after another strong campaign, he could be poised to make a breakthrough with the senior National Team after barely stepping onto the court at EuroBasket 2007 when still a teenager. He is an aggressive small forward who loves to finish around the hoop but can also make shots from either side of the three-point line. Last season was his best yet in Rome and still only 23-years-old, his game continues to evolve while his impact in the Italian league is gradually increasing. Not surprisingly he was an All Star participant earlier this year and he is now beginning to realise the huge potential he showed for his country at youth level when he was one of the stand out players of his generation.
