Team 2012-13: Lenovo Cantu (Italy-Lega)
Career: Fortitudo Bologna (Italy-Lega, 2000-09); Armani Jeans Milano (Italy-Lega, 2009-12); Lenovo Cantu (Italy-Lega, 2013)
Coming into his fourth EuroBasket as the most experienced player in the Azzuri with 134 appearances (he has also played in one FIBA World Championship), Stefano Mancinelli will retain the captaincy role. The lefty forward is coming off a difficult season, as after leaving Milano he had been a free agent until late January, and then in Cantù he had several ups and downs. Following his physical evolution, Mancinelli fits better at power forward, and Italy can provide him a good chance to shine, as Mancinelli's low-post plays will need to contribute in order to hide Gallinari's absence. "Mancio" can finish with his hook but he's a creative passer too, using his better-than-average court vision. With his offensive low-post dimension Mancinelli can fit very well alongside dangerous perimeter shooters like Bargnani, Belinelli, Datome and Aradori.
