Roberto Chiacig

Career: Treviso (Italy-Lega, 1993-1994), Padova (Italy-Legadue, 1994-1995), Treviso (Italy-Lega, 1995-1996), AEK Atene (Greece-Esake, 1996-1997), Fortitudo Bologna (Italy-Lega, 1997-1998), Reggio Emilia (Italy-Lega, 1998-1999), Montecatini (Italy-Lega, 1999-2000), Siena (Italy-Lega, 2000-2005).

A true center, not an example of athletic power but solid and experienced. He has the size to fight under the boards, sometimes he explodes with an unpredictable blocked shot or nice move, using the pivot foot, and a four meter range shot, with a soft touch from the corner position... Captain of Montepaschi Siena, was a member of their historic first Italian Championhip in 2004... Since the gold medal at EuroBasket '99 he shares the role of center with Marconato, in a precious mix that can offer the Italian national team 2 different options,  with Chiacig the traditional inside player and Marconato that can shoot from mid-range... Chiacig has a really good sense for rebounding, helping him overcome bigger opponents... An inconsistent free throw shooter, has an effective hook, but if you have to ask to someone to make sacrifice on defense, Chiacig is your man.
