Poland And Netherlands To Face Off For Ninth Place

Poland and the Netherlands will face off for ninth place at the U20 European Championship for Women after both teams notched victories in the 9th-12th place classification round.

Olivia Tomialowicz's 15 points and Klaudia Sosnowska's 14 points and 14 rebounds paced four players in double figures in Poland's 66-53 victory over Italy.

Lithuania Rally Past Italy

Lithuania came back from a 16-point first quarter deficit to beat Italy 72-54 and secure a spot in the quarter-finals of the U20 European Championship for Women.

Marina Solopova and Egle Siksniute each scored 15 points and Lina Pikciute collected 10 points and 10 rebounds as Lithuania improved to 3-2 in the qualifying round Group F.

Belarus Leave It Late Against Italy

Maryia Filonchyk nailed a three-pointer with 24 seconds left and Maryia Papova blocked a game-winning attempt with two ticks to play as Belarus beat Italy 61-60 at the U20 European Championship for Women.

Katsiaryna Kashlei scored 15 points and Filonchyk collected 13 points and 13 rebounds to keep Belarus alive for the quarter-finals with a 1-3 record in the qualifying round Group F.

Turkey Ride Late Run To Victory Over Italy

Turkey out-scored Italy 13-2 over the final seven minutes in grabbing a 67-58 victory and remaining perfect at the U20 European Championship for Women.

Yasemen Saylar had 21 points, five rebounds and five assists while Safiye Karaman scored 14 points for Turkey, who improved to 3-0 in Group F.
