Marco Belinelli - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: Chicago Bulls (USA-NBA)
Career: Virtus Bologna (Italy-Lega, 2001-03); Fortitudo Bologna (Italy-Lega, 2003-07); Golden State Warriors (USA-NBA, 2007-09); Toronto Raptors (Canada-NBA, 2009-10); New Orleans Hornets (USA-NBA, 2010-12); Chicago Bulls (USA-NBA, 2012-13); San Antonio Spurs (USA-NBA, 2013)

Marco Belinelli is ready to return to the national team after an exciting NBA season, where he became the first Italian player to go past the first round of the play-offs. He did it by starring in Game Seven in Brooklyn, when he scored 24 points in victory over the Nets. After such a positive season with a title contender, Belinelli signed for an even more ambitious franchise, 2013 runners-up, the San Antonio Spurs. Now he is getting back to Italy with a lot of confidence. Once again, he is expected to be one of Italy's offensive leaders, something he has been throughout his career, evidenced by the 25 points he scored against Team USA at the 2006 FIBA World Championship when he was still only 20. Belinelli's offensive skills make him a potential stand-out player at EuroBasket, as he is an excellent shooter but he is also able to play pick-and-roll, because of his excellent dribbling skills. His experience in Chicago, with a tough coach in Tom Thibodeau, made him a better defensive player too.
