Team 2008-09: MACCABI TEL AVIV (Israel-BSL)
Career: Bnei Hertzelia (Israel-D1, 1997-2000), Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel-BSL, 2000-09)

The most important shot of Israeli basketball in the last 25 years was made by Burstein in 2003 when his buzzer-beater ace sent Israel to their first EuroBasket Quarter-Finals since 1983. At 20 he was one of the main players on the team that won a historic silver medal in the U20 European Championship Men. Less than a year later he was a starter on the Maccabi Tel Aviv team that won the Suproleauge. This summer he completed nine magical years at Maccabi, where he added two more European titles, although the last three were under the effect of injuries that kept him out of EuroBasket 2007. His admirable motivation and hard work is what have carried Burstein, and lately saved him from retiring. This is come back time.
