Lior Eliyahu was bought out of his contract by Maccabi Tel Aviv after losing the Championship to Maccabi Haifa a while back and began to mull over the remainder of his career. Though NBA teams placed calls and offered non-or-partial guaranteed contracts, Eliyahu never made the jump Stateside. His NBA rights are retained by the Minnesota Timberwolves but it appears Eliyahu will retire overseas without ever wearing an NBA jersey. Alas, It's been a dream-like season for Eliyahu who was named Israeli Player of the Year, All-First Team, and Most Valuable Player of the 2014-2015 season. More importantly, Eliyahu engaged is his defensive assignments and has improved in almost every aspect of the game. Eliyahu will forever be remembered as a star-forward who won the first-ever Championship for Hapoel Jerusalem.
