Tal Burstein - EuroBasket 2011 Profile
Team 2010-11: Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel-BSL)
Career: Bnei Hertzelia (Israel-BSL, 1997-2000), Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel-BSL, 2000-10)

One the most recognisable players in Israeli basketball, Burstein hit the most important shot for the National Team in the last 25 years when his buzzer-beater in 2003 sent Israel to their first EuroBasket Quarter-Final for 20 years. He was one of the main players on the team that won a historic silver medal at the U20 European Championships, and now has a decade of experience at Maccabi under his belt, winning EuroLeague titles as well as helping his team reach the final game last season. Injuries have plagued him in recent years, he missed EuroBasket 2007, but he returned to play a key role during the last two summers. His admirable motivation and hard work are the qualities that have carried Burstein, and lately saved him from retiring, and he remains key to Israel's chances since he brings veteran experience to the table.
