Portugal Lock Down Israel In Fourth

Portugal, Great Britain and the Czech Republic all booked their second straight victories at the U20 European Championship for Women Division B.

Marcy Goncalves and Francisca Braga each scored 10 points as Portugal beat Israel 60-46 in Group A, holding Israel to just five points in the fourth quarter.

Israel dropped to 1-1 despite 13 points from Shira Shecht and 10 points and 11 rebounds by Idit Oryon.

Slovakia moved to 1-1 after beating Austria 65-44 thanks to 24 points from Klaudia Lukacovicova.

Georgia De Leeuw and Lisa Zderadicka both scored nine points for Austria, who scored just five points in the third quarter in dropping to 0-1.

The Czech Republic moved to 2-0 in Group B with a 72-61 victory over FYR of Macedonia. Alena Hanusova had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Renata Brezinova scored 12 points.

Jelena Antik guided FYROM with 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks. But the team dropped to 0-1 even though Andzelika Mitrasinovik added 15 points and Ema Reskoska chipped in 10 points.

Great Britain also improved to 2-0 with a 54-50 win over Hungary. Katrin Chiemeka scored 11 points and Kristie Sheils added 10 points.

Nikolett Sarok scored 10 points for Hungary, who dropped to 0-2.
