Sweden Sign Off With Big Win
Sweden demolished Luxembourg 97-40 in EuroBasket Division B, Group C, to storm into the play-offs as the best second-place team.

Joakim Kjellbom had 29 points and nine rebounds for the Scandinavians, who have kept their hopes of winning promotion alive despite the absence of star player Jonas Jerebko.

Georgia Thrash Slovakia, Ireland Win

Slovakia pushed undefeated Sweden close on Wednesday before losing by just six points but they were no match for Georgia in another Group C game on Saturday.

Zaza Pachulia dominated for the Georgians in Tbilisi with 34 points and 14 rebounds as the home side routed the Slovakians, 91-50.

Ireland Suffer Home Loss Against Sweden

Ireland's Senior Men opened their European account on Saturday with a 66-50 defeat to Sweden at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

The opening period was proving extremely tight with neither side breaching the basket after the first two minutes. Sweden's Joakim Kjeubom finally opened the scoring when he converted from top of the key.
